Tidewinder of RamseyTidewinder is a Southerly 115, Series III, constructed by Northshore Yachts at Itchenor, Chichester. As Northshore's display boat, she appeared at the Southampton Boat show in 1997 - as well as at boat shows in Holland. She is registered as a British Ship by the Isle of Man Department of Marine Administration, and as such wears the British Red Ensign, defaced with the Manx Three Leg symbol.

2001 Season
An early start to the season with a frostbite trip to Whitehaven was followed by
a miserable early spring and little activity possible before Easter.
Summer
Cruise
Since the Forth-Clyde canal
had been restored to naviagtion in May this year, we decided to use the new
route and make circumnavigate central Scotland.

With Lifeboat
Day out of the way, and over a month later than originally planned, we set

Summer Cruise
A late start due to commitments at Ramsey Lifeboat day, saw us heading back
towards the SW of Ireland - abandoned in favour a time on the Isle of Man back in
1997. We still only got as far as Arklow - but had a great time visiting
the whole of the East Coast of Ireland - right up to Ballycastle and Rathlin
Island.
RNLI
Seacheck
Tidewinder won a Seacheck Offshore Gold Award following Peter Hodge's
inspection of her safety gear.

The
Journey Home
Our journey home bringing Tidewinder to
Douglas, Isle Of Man from Northshore's yard at
Itchenor near Chichester in West Sussex represented the longest passage we had undertaken
- by far - and involved passing some of the most notorious headlands in Britain - like
Portland Bill and Lands End.
Summer
Tour 1998
Our summer holiday plans were to have a
relaxing trip through the Scottish Canals - so long as we could get there!
